Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
Thanks Chris. I want to acknowledge publicly that I appreciate your help in providing parts and services for this build at reasonable prices. I know you and your team went above and beyond with some of the extras you did for these builds. I really look forward to seeing it all come together in MeanMini.
Sometimes patience is a real accomplishment, but it is what was required in this case to ensure the van gets built right the first time.
And now Brian's assistance became key when I felt that goal of "right the first time" became in question.
I think we all will be happy and proud of the final results when we get there.

That's the craftsmanship of Brian Slowe my friend!
The cat is a 3" in/out MBS high-flow 100 cpi unit.

I saw Mean Mini for the first time a few weeks ago. That's one clean van sir! Has some nice shiny new go fast parts on her also. Good luck with her.

And you'll see it again at SDAC25!

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
Thanks Mike (W), and Mike (M).
I have been doing all this with the expectation of SDAC, especially since my gut tells me it should be East Coast this year at long last. However and sadly, there is a PTO blackout period at work during the expected dates of SDAC. So it is highly unlikely I'll be able to go. I hope to plan for the fall event at Cecil though as a consolation.
I do hope Mini will go as good as she looks!

Looks great, but why do the cut out after the cat?

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
I have some pictures Wayne of slug from years ago, I'll have to run them through the flatbed scanner and post them.

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
Thanks Gary. That would be great. I had one old one of Gus and I each changing tires at Atco or E-town when Slug was still white.
Pat- That was something Brian did but would add some versatility. There will be a test pipe most of the time. Eventually might wire in an electronic cutout.

Thanks Gary, that's a nice trip down memory lane. That one from SDAC 13 had been my avatar for years. And those engine pics were some old ones by the look of the setup.
And Butch sure looks small when he stands next to grown-ups! ;

Gus once told me he purposely made all his wiring etc. look crappy just for kicks.
When people saw or heard about his 12 sec. runs, they expected to see some polished aftermarket items in his engine compartment, or a V8, not a bunch of ingenious homemade gizmos !!
Thanks
