Congrats to her!
Congrats Johnny. That's pretty cool.
Engine is in and running...and driving. My friend George helped me all day.
BUT there is a funny noise we need to decide what it is...tomorrow morning we shall see....
You plan to autocross this thing this year? I hope so with the work you've done. :)
It seems that noise in the NEW engine is a rod knock on #3.
Not driving it to SDAC....... :(
Man, that stinks. No time to pull the block and check what it is? Possibly put the old block back in?
No time, takes WAY to much work to hurry "again".
Is that the raffle engine from the wagon?
I will re-word that for you.Quote:

That raffle engine is in that wagon.
Can't drop the pan and put a bearing on it? If it's not a bad knock yet it may be okay.
Same here, but I have caught them before they did damage, on a 2.2 I rebuilt. After about 2 years I could barely hear them tap on start up, swapped them out and was good to go. That is a rare occasion though, and wasn't very audible knock unless you were listening for it.
I wouldn't want to drive across country on a Maybe this will work, maybe it won't setup.
Talked to the only good machine shop today. Going to take the original GTP engine in and have it bored for 20 over forged pistons.
And have things balanced. Then will swap out the other engine and try to find out what the issue is.
He said he wants to hear the engine that is in there now. So will take in in there tomorrow before noon.
1 lottery winning away is where. No time or money to be playing that game.
Anyone have one of the longer ones they would sell me?
Also has 5 bolt holes, not 4.
That's an 88 2.2 gear, They come on the turbo's and the 2.2 tbi's.
Why do you need another???
So I don't need to pull it off one engine to put on another. Two complete engines that way.

If anyone that has one has the aluminum piece behind it, that would be good to get both.
