You may have a filter extension on the turbo oil inlet. Turbonetics usually includes them to reduce oil contamination failures. See attached photo of Turbonetics oil filter.

Re: Oil feed line question
Your stock oil line should fit into it or the old fitting should screw into this one. Also, make sure you reseal the part Chris showed you. When I installed my turbo, that fitting was installed loosely and it was DRY, no thread sealant on it at all. :banghead:
Re: Oil feed line question
Yes, our braided steel oil supply line will fit with this filter.

Chris, the picture you posted of the filter is not what is on the center section of my turbo, basically it only has the threaded brass part on the turbo, not the upper half like the picture you posted.

I have a picture but I can't seem to post it?

Re: Oil feed line question
Instead of clicking 'insert image'...scroll down and look for 'Attach files'...click on 'Manage attachments'. Then you can upload it from that console. :thumb:
Insert Image only only works for pics that are hosted somewhere.
Re: Oil feed line question
Under my "posting rules" it says I am not allowed to post attachments, how would I go about getting this restriction moved? thanx

Use www.photobucket.com
Make up your own account, its free or sign up here for $10 for the year.
Re: Oil feed line question
Ok here is a link with the picture, the brass part you see has threads on the outside of it, I've never seen a fitting like this on a turbo.

Re: Oil feed line question
Do you have a better photo-IE bigger and a top shot?
Re: Oil feed line question
No I dont have a top shot of the turbo, its on the engine in my garage right now, hard to get an above shot with the intake on there.

Re: Oil feed line question
I can't really tell but you should be able to remove that fitting and reuse your old Garrett/Mitsu fitting.
Re: Oil feed line question
I dont think I could remove it without taking the center section of the turbo apart.
Re: Oil feed line question
That is not an alen head plug is it? That is odd indeed. in any event, you are probably stuck with what ever is on there while the motor is in the car.
The oil inlet for the center section should be 1/8th NPT.
Re: Oil feed line question
i got a brass fitting similar to what you have out by hammering a screw driver into it and spinning it out.
Re: Oil feed line question
The engine is actually still on a stand in my garage, hasn't been run yet, I'll take the turbo off tomorrow and get a picture from right above the oil feed hole. Hopefully I get it sorted out soon, the engine will be going in the car very shortly once my 3" sv gets here.
