Possible A413/31TH Billet Input Shaft Group Buy
I'm trying to get a group buy off the ground for another run of billet input shafts.
Details...
Material: 300M
Spline: 904 style
Price: $450/ea (for a group of 5 units) possibly a price break at 10 units - trying to verify that with vendor.
I have spoken to a few people offline already, so if I've already talked or messaged you i have you down elsewhere already.
If you have any interest, please let me know soon. I would like this to move swiftly. There just was a recent run of 5 that was behind the scenes, but I missed out without knowing. So my intent here is to share if anyone else wants in on this ride. My hope is we can get a discount.
Thanks!

ditto.

Heard back about pricing.
For 10 units, price per unit is $419 + shipping.
Re: Possible A413/31TH Billet Input Shaft Group Buy
I would be interested as well.

What the hell, sign me up.

Would this utilize a stock style torque converter?

It would require a torque converter with a 904 style hub.

904 style stator I think.
Re: Possible A413/31TH Billet Input Shaft Group Buy
I"ve heard back from Donato Engineering about having a batch made. He would need a minimum of 10 to be feasible. I think I am already, or just about at 10 committed.
He is checking material pricing now and will get back to me.
Those of you that are wavering, i know you need pricing, but please decide quickly as we need to get this cooking quickly.
Some additional info from John Donato:
All of the shafts are made from 300 M steel, heat treated shot peened and have the A904 spline and diameter. I have had no failures of these shafts.

I would get one , like to have a spare, these don't come up often..

So what does that mean? Where can such a torque converter be found?

Would need to specify when ordering a custom converter.
Shops that custom build converters would be able to do it. Maybe shops that rebuild them can switch.
Somewhere in the upper 300hp range you are probably leaning your input splines. And at that level you would want a custom converter anyway.

Touch base with the guys who already have the input shaft and have had converters done.

I'm not sure who made my converter that is sitting on the shelf, but A-1 is pretty much the go to for converters for this set up now and is where my new converter is coming from. Forward Motion might be able to hook you up and I'm not sure Nans or Pat's will tackle it anymore...actually I don't think they will.

Would love to hear more.
I sent A1 an inquiry but haven't heard back yet. But wasn't even sure if they had anything for us.
Can you share info on your product, line, level, cost, anything would be of help. I was going to try getting one from them, then get my PTC rebuilt with the new spline also.
Thanks!
Re: Possible A413/31TH Billet Input Shaft Group Buy
Although still waiting to hear back with pricing from Donato Engineering, I want to start making the list official. I can say with certainty these will be made somewhere with the amount of interest so far.
**Those that I've spoken/messaged personally I won't put your name on this list but you can add your names if you don't mind that info out there.
If you are on the fence, you might want to seriously consider. Future groups would need to achieve 10 units also, which might not happen again for a while since the Donato Engineering part has NEVER failed.

Re: Possible A413/31TH Billet Input Shaft Group Buy
I haven't seen it mentioned at which point one of these is advised... I know the cases can be an issue, it seems like folks have problems there before the input shaft, so I'm wondering if there's a "breaking point" where one would want/need one of these and would case mods be desirable ahead of this upgrade?...

A-1 performance make full race converters, these are not recommended for street use. There around $1300-$1400 for there converter.
