so ive been having an engine built for awhile now, ran into a issue, was told i need .10/.10 rod and main bearings but cant find those, do they exist? seems to be a non standard size the least im seeing is .25, im guessing that was since there was some debris that damaged thecrank and that was the min resize possible but is there anywhere can order the bearings?
Engine bearings are sized in metric and not inches anymore at least for our application.
If you mean .010 that would equal .25mm Big difference between .1 and .01
.020 is .5mm
.030 is .75mm
.040 is 1mm
Nobody makes them anymore, used to be able to get .026mm which is .001 and was great for a situation where the crankshaft was just out of spec but not needing a full .010 ground off to make it round again. Those have been unavailable for several years now though.
Northern auto parts is far from the cheapest place to find them but they do have everything in stock.

maybe thats it he said it was cut 10/10 but im just not familiar with the engine building lingo im sure thats probably the case
looking at that link above , and the bearing sets listed,
I might wanna use it as a list of part numbers to research better
- as there is no mention of any bearings being for or not for early vs late engines with the filleted cranks..
AND they list the 2.2 dohc mazi motor as one the rod bearings ALSO fit..and that's a known ,wrong
i ordered some from fwd so should be all good now, i just didn't know the .010 = .25 thing since i dont normally build engines

the cryco / mazzi dohc 2.2's used unique double weighted cranks and unique connecting rods that used a bearing that is something like .020 narrower than a regular 2.2 rod bearing
I believe the first pic is the 2.2 crank we know
second pic is not a mazzi crank .. but is similar in the design & placement of the weights
double weighted distributes stress' evenly to each side of the main caps unlike our standard "single weight" 2.2 cranks
The masi engine uses a different rod bearing for the "casar" connecting rods I know about.
This tidbit hereif you were referring to the standard 8v chrysler crankshaft as there being a difference between early and late ?Quote:

thus the bearing must allow for it at the edges
