Re: More Power Steering Fun
Sounds like the pump is sucking in some air. Is the fluid look aerated after it's warm?
Re: More Power Steering Fun
What fluid did you use in it? As Pat said, does the fluid look aerated after warmed up?
Re: More Power Steering Fun
We've had a rash of problems this year with re-manufactured pumps being bad out of the box.
Re: More Power Steering Fun
Hey guys, sorry, golf trip to vegas this past week.
I tried getting it up to temp after seeing your post Pat, i got it warm, and was having lag, but not as bad as previously so i'm not sure the conditions were the same. I think i know what you're talking about though as I had something like that in the past where the fluid would look frothy after driving. I don't think that's the case here though. The fluid is a little browner than i think it should be, but there dont appear to be any bubbles. I would equate the color to a coffee with cream type look.
I think i used the generic autozone power steering prevent leak fluid?
I got this pump about 2 years ago i think? And i think it was a replacement from one that was bad out of the box?
I apologize for the vagueness... i let this thing sit for 1 1/2 to 2 years... was trying to get back into it, but man o man is it making it a headache (there's more than this problem, but this is one i was hoping i could fix lol)
Re: More Power Steering Fun
If it looks like coffee with creamer in it, you might have water in it which isn't good. Get that crap out of it and get some fresh fluid in it.
