To rebuild or not rebuild that is the question
I just found out a little while ago while going over the car really close that my rear main seal is leaking like a stuck pig. So needless to say I have to drop the transmission to get that issue resolved. The transmission has about 102,xxx miles on it so while it's out shoud I get it rebuild or fix the seal, stick the transmission back in and drive it till it breaks? No issues with the transmission other than a slight whine / high pitched hum while driving.

Looks like I reacted to quickly lol. It was just oil from the drain plug that I didn't tighten all the way :).

Love these threads. I would rather hear this 100 times than have to perform surgery. Love those lapses in judgement!

LOL yeah, I've made tons of silly judgements before finding out it was something stupid that I've done. Glad to hear your problem's solved. BTW, I was gonna suggest using some "High mileage" oil, as I've been told it has additives that help "swell" seals.
