Identify P/S pump for fast ratio steering

My CSX has a Saginaw pump that looks new. Is there a way to confirm the pump has the correct FF valve for fast ratio steering?

I don't believe pumps are different, but racks are, any way if you want to modify the pump valve, here's how.

Pumps are the same. <------This is inaccurate. Never mind.

Service manual says quick ratio pumps are different from standard ratio but doesn't explain the difference in flow control valves.

pumps for the quick ratio racks are equiped with a higher pressure valve than cars with the std ratio rack - the only difference is the valve inserted in the back of the pump

I don't see why you would want to decrease the pressure like in the article as we're not using the old style steering boxes

ok guys, some help needed here but I think this thread might be a lead as to what is going on.My CSX has a T3 so that means I had to run the newer style pump on an 87 rack. This has been an ongoing problem and I need to get it solved. I have added an extra O-ring under the cap of the res, container of the P/S pump to help stop the leak, and it has helped but it is weeping again from there. the weeping from the cover/dipstick only weeps when I rev it up. Today I managed to figure out more to what is going on. So when I rev and hold the rpms around 4-5k no issue but as soon as I let off back pressure from the system shoots back out of the port where the container feeds the pump, which also happens to be right under the cap/dipstick. so that's why I end up with oil drips and splatter on my pass side compartment. The pump is the same pump from the 91 spirit R/T I used to own and never had any issues with it, the steering rack is the original rack to my 87 CSX. To make this set up work I used the 88 P-body power steering lines, only having to do some minor bend/tweaking to it to fit the rack like factory. My question is since I ran my car before with no pump did I screw up my rack and that's why I'm getting backpressure shooting back into the reserviour? or is it a valving problem with the pump? I need to get this corrected..
