Caravan wood door trim removal
I have a wrong color woodgrain door on my van and I want to remove the wood and paint it the correct color. What is the best way to go about that without breaking the trim. Will there be holes in the door that I will need to weld shut afterwards? What about the vinyl wood sticker? Is there a mess free way to remove it or should I sand it off? I probably won't be doing this for another few weeks but I have some other bodywork to do and I want to get it all done before it snows. Just trying to form a plan and work out what materials I'm going to need.

Side moldings usually have a nut at one end (look inside the door edge)and the rest is held by plastic clips. You either lift up and off or down and off to release the clip. It’s been about 20 years since I took any off. The clips are held on with welded T studs. You can twist them off or use a grinder.
As for removing the 30 year old woodgrain (it proper name is di-noc) you may have luck with a heat gun, but most likely you’ll be going at it with a body grinder.
