87 Log intake T-1 code 45 think boost control solenoid bad?
Noticed my 87 Daytona Turbo 1 log intake, has a mp performance computer unsure of calibration, but usually maxed out at 12 psi. Lately it pegs the factory boost gauge at 15-16 and sets code 45. Thinking it is the boost control solenoid. Any idea where to find one? don't see them on rock auto or fwd performance.
Am I going down the right path? Also have an 88 T-11 parts car, can I use one from it?

Could be, I'd check all the vaccum lines first, I imagine one has rotted away, your car is acting like the wastegate is disconnected.
test the silonode. apply 12volts and see if it clicks. blow air through it.

Sounds like a good time to put a grainger valve controller on it.
Also check the waste gate can and arm to see if it moves, using your hands and fingers on a cold engine. The spring inside the can will hold the rod and waste gate flapper shut pretty tight, but it shouldn't be stuck shut.

Looked at vacuum lines already, the lines I see look good. Will check by the can again.
Great suggestions I will check these items.

If you have a MityVac or a regulated air pressure source, you could hook it up to the waste gate can port. Seems like it should start opening the flapper (rod movement) at 6-7 psi.
Re: 87 Log intake T-1 code 45 think boost control solenoid bad?
Looked at it more closely, the vacuum line was broken 3/4 way through right at the wastegate can in a way that wasn't easy to see or find last night when hot. Fixed that section of line, cleared code, went for a drive to relearn boost, seems to be good now. Idle is much smoother too since fixing the vacuum line. Pulls a few more inches of vacuum on the gauge too.
