Best clutch switch location for launch control/flatshift
Has anyone used a clutch pedal switch for launch control and/or flatshifting functions? I want to install a clutch switch but I'm not sure where the best location will be. I've been doing some reading on various websites and some people are saying that it should be near the engagement point so that when you quickly let off the clutch it will turn off the launch control just as the clutch grabs. I don't have a clutch switch at all so I'll to need to make a bracket anyway. Just wondering what others have experienced. Any info/pics would be appreciated.
Thanks!

The factory used the brake switch with 2 additional wires for the clutch switch function.

I used a clutch pedal, and switch bracket from a 92 spirit rt. The clutch pedal has a adjustable striker plate, which is nice for setting the switch to your engagement point. The switch bracket is welded on to the pedal hanger, so in my case I needed to cut it off and weld it on to my L body pedal hanger. As for the switch, I used one that has two circuits. One circuit is open and the other closed when the plunger is depressed, and vise versa when the plunger is not depressed. The one circuit was used to shut off the 2 step, and the other circuit was used to start the boost by time function of my boost controller.

Thanks for the input guys. Here's what I ended up doing.

I drilled out the smaller hole in the clutch cable tab on the trans case and installed a marine starter button with a spring. I had the button laying around and it ended up being just about the perfect length. It is adjustable via a nut on top of the clutch cable tab but it doesn't really need it.
The 2-step and flatshift on my megasquirt work awesome! My 4-5 year-old thrush welded muffler did not fair so well however!

EDIT: made pics work again

Just a note, I have re-clocked my clutch arm since I posted this. The switch is not long enough now. I plan to put a bolt into the arm to get it working good again. Pics to come.
Here's a link to a switch like the one I used. https://www.westmarine.com/buy/cole-...switch--270876
