According to the website, vans are not prohibited, but they aren't encouraged either. No high CG vehicle is...

Actually, it is a "Performance Driving School" held on a road course. One of the first items of the day will be to determine the experience level of each driver. The the driver will be assigned to a group, novice, intermediate, or expert. All novices will then be assigned to an instructor. The instructor will ride along with the novice drivers showing them how to drive for performance. He will instruct them on how to take turns (the "line"), and where to brake before the turns.
As the driver gains confidence and skill the instructor will let the driver drive the course on his own (usually in the afternoon sessions). Some folks in the intermediate group may wish to have an instructor check out their skill level as a refresher for pointers and tips. Expert drivers will drive their sessions solo. A typical session is 20 minutes long, and there will be multiple sessions in the morning and afternoon for every driving group. This is designed to be a safe way to introduce folks how to drive their car on a road course.
It is a blast, the most fun many will likely ever have behind the wheel of their car. We encourage every one to try it at least once.

It is being planned for the goody bags.

The event at the same venue at SDAC 18 is still talked about every year by those who were there. I was unable to participate that year due to mechanical problems, but everyone who did said it was amazing. I don't plan on missing it this time.

Thanks, Barry. Actually, if that information could be leaked much earlier, it would really help with planning and packing before we leave. If I knew for certain VP C16 would be available, it would save me from asking my dad to take a ride to Delaware, and having to carry pails of fuel through non-hazmat zones :)

I did a google search on VP C16 dealers and there is one dealer in Michigan, about 200 or so miles west of here. It is actually much closer to Chicago than Detroit.
On the list from SDAC's 18 & 22 are two stations selling race gas. One sells Torco 110 leaded, the other CAM 2 100 unleaded. I don't know if race gas will be available at the drag strip, but I imagine it will be.

Thanks, Barry.
I called Rocky's Pit Stop at Milan last week. They do normally sell VP fuels but it was unclear if they would have somebody to sell it on our track day.
Re: Official SDAC-27 Discussion Thread
Yikes. That is something to think about!
I might try to bring some if i can, but i have about 1/2 tank or more of mixed now.
Maybe they can verify if they'll have the fuel area open for at least a few hours?

If there is known race gas in the area it will be noted. We have asked Milan to have it available in the morning on Drag Day.

Higher CG vehicles are not excluded, just need to take special precautions to make sure the drivers of said vehicles are driving well within the acceptable limits of the vehicle and driver skill levels so we all have a fun day.

Do we have confirmation of race gas availability at the track? Otherwise i need to secure a couple gallons for the trip, or in transit.

We will not have any confirmation of availability at the track until we get there. But in the past they have sold it for a couple hours for us at this track.

Re: Official SDAC-27 Discussion Thread
As Barry mentioned they are supposed to have it for us in the morning. Not sure which flavors or cost.

What about fuel at Waterford Hills? Anything ethanol-free?
Thanks!
