Short Circuit Glove-Box Light
AA body, LeBaron LE. Installing LED into glove box required reversing the leads. This caused a short when I reinstalled the socket and now the dome & map lights don't work, nor does the radio. All fuses look good, though I'm about to test all the involved ones for continuity. Any ideas what gives here, or how to fix this mess?

Ray,
Do you have a FSM? If so check the wiring diagrams.

Chromguy, et al, Please note that fuses may LOOK good but are NOT when checked for continuity.
Problem solved. Sorry to take up bandwidth.

Yes indeed....Great news that your issue is fix. I still recommend a FSM, if you don't have one. They are very useful.
Re: Short Circuit Glove-Box Light
Miles, if you mean the shop service manuals, I have them. I just installed a 5-speed manual into my LeBaron LE and the job is impossible without the full service manuals, mechanical, electric wiring, and the electric components. The wiring diagrams are only decipherable after many hours of study, but the info is indeed all there. Otherwise, I don't know what an FSM is.
The real problem is these 'modern' fuses are impossible to tell that they're no good. The old glass ones you could see a burned filament. These new ones (only 25 years old or so) show only the tiniest burned spot inside, for me invisible unless I use heavy magnification. Easier to do a continuity check on the questionable ones. They could be more readily accessible, too.
