Transmission Blanket NHRA legal for manual trans?
Does anybody know if blankets are an acceptable option to a scatter shield?
What is the risk of overheating the clutch/trans with a blanket?
For background, this is for my 3.5L V6 turbo Shadow w/543. I was considering getting a Reeve's scatter shield and modifying it, BUT as setup, the exhaust crossover would interfere with a shield. I think I can fit a blanket under the manifold...

Rebuilding the crossover is not possible? I don't remember how far it has to cover up, the entire flange?

I considered rebuilding it, but there is a lot of other stuff that would have to be tweaked too. The coolant manifold (6g74) sits just above. The turbo down pipe is not far... So a blanket which is flexible would be a far easier solution...
