You had me until the whole 9 yards since a bore and hot tank is only about 1 yard. Typically for me to get a cylinder bore, torque plate hone, align hone the mains, block decked, resize rods, polish crank, full clean and all bearings it is about 800 CDN from a reputable shop.
by the whole 9 yards i mean everything the whole kit and cabootle .... everything done.. its just a saying didnt mean to confuse
Well if your supplying the crank, rods, then to to buy forged, $500, turn crank if needed, redo rods with ARP's, balance, hone, etc, I would say $1500-$2000 would cover everything.
400 bucks should cover the machine work on the block, then parts cost (varies on what you get), then labor, (shop rate x assembly time). 3-400 bucks should cover a complete rebuild kit w/ new stock-type pistons (not forged).
Rob, it depends on how much you are willing to take care of in the back office.
Here is what I have payed in the past for maching.
Bore and hone 20$ a hole
Line Bore and hone 150$
Deck block 100-150$
Zero deck block 150-250$
Arp install and resize 10-15$ a rod
If resizing wrist pin add another 5$ a rod if doing it at the same time as the ARP's
Hot tank and clean 50-80$
Turning and polishing the crank 150$
Balancing rotating assembly with clutch and all 300$
Assembly Depends on Shop rate.
And thats just the shortblock
If you want to resurface the head, pressure test it and make sure everything is in spec then thats going to run 150-350$
Hope that helps. These are also canadian prices.
