I've been thinking about doing my 85 T1 LeBaron with it... Possibly Nebula Red to keep the title as Maroon, or go storm trooper black and white. Yup, bringing it out of the archives because it's the only Plasti-Dip thread in this forum. Anyone have a longevity report? Only thing keeping me from doing it is the written 3yr max life, and reports of a year or less in tough conditions like I would have at 10,000' in the Rockies of CO.

I did all the badges on my jeep a few months ago and it still looks good.

I'm getting a "too nice for the likes of me" babied Town and Country Limited, and was wondering about this stuff. Basically wanna use it on front for stone chip repellant. Maybe on rockers etc, to avoid gravel rash. I've heard about that spray on "bra" stuff, but this sounds more durable.
What worries me though is moisture creep. Any time you get a tough surface coating, like rocker guard, powder coat, some thick enamels even, on steel, after it ages a bit, you can have water get underneath it, and the whole damn thing rusts out underneath before you see the orange stain on top. I'm wondering if doing it over decent stock paint avoids this though.
What kind of prep do you have to do, wax stripper/degreaser kinda thing?

It's not super durable. Once a rock or something chips it, it can start peeling off. Prep the surface like you would anything else. Clean it and degrease it. You want a lot of really thin coats. Let it dry like 5-10 minutes between coats.

If you plan on removing it in the future you actually want to clean it and apply a good coat of wax to the paint before spraying the plastidip. This will aid in removal in future. As for durability and chipping, if you get chips you can "repair" them without having to peel and re-dip the whole surface.
