Here is a video I made about the basic process for making some carbon fiber sun visors for the CSX. I think they turned out fairly well, but I would certainly like to experiment with more of them.

How much lighter are they than the OE ones? Weight redux, bro.
a thought maybe if this gets tried again
folding the cloth around a piece of plastic tubing that the shafts of the mounts can be pushed into should make mounting them easier
Cool demo. And I must say if you slow your delivery down just a touch you could have a future as some kind of announcer or voice over worker. :)
seriously! I felt his delivery was fine, I hate when its too slow and dragged out, makes me want to fast forward, this was quick enough for me and I could always rewind if I had missed something (but wasn't necessary).Quote:

cool video by the way, and nice first go at some carbon fiber stuff...
Thanks guys. It's been a long time since I've done any voice work and much longer than that since I've been paid for it. I always say I'm going to look into it again, but I never do.
That's not a bad idea at all. I actually think that I could have just removed the metal bracket and used the CF to go around the metal piece. I think there's enough flex in the resin I used to accommodate the flipping of a sun visor for a very long time.
I used to hire voice over talent when I worked in advertising, and yes, you sound great.
Might think of audio books too!!
