Re: Turn signals not working
I'm assuming all the parking lights and tail lights work correctly. How about your brake lights? Do the signal bulbs flash with your hazards on? Also, does anything change depending on whether the headlamps are on or off?
I'm not that familiar with the '89 P-body harnesses, but I know my Charger and my old '86 Daytona both had an orange fusible link directly off the positive battery cable that ran the turn signals. This would be separate from the big fusible link cluster. If that checks ok (assuming you have it), the next thing I would check is all the bulb sockets for damage, corrosion, and continuity from socket to power and socket to ground. You'll probably need some wiring diagrams for reference. If that all checks good, the next thing I would look at is the signal switch inside the steering column.
Re: Turn signals not working
Have you ruled out the turn signal switch itself being bad?
Re: Turn signals not working
Thanks guys. Will look at the sockets, though all bulbs flash with the emergency flasher. Was thinking the switch could be bad.
Re: Turn signals not working
I'd lean more towards the switch at this point if they work in every other way.
Re: Turn signals not working
Agreed. If the hazards work but the signals don't, it's probably the switch inside the column. At least, that was the issue with my Charger.
Re: Turn signals not working
Found out I had the hazard and turn signal relays switched. Sorry for the late post.
