Ive got a couple of these. $40USD +shipping, I think they're from 88 year and up cars. They have the correct look but not 100% right.
I find the early radios to be very unreliable. ones with the tiny square buttons.
Jeremy,
Plan on replacing all the switches under the buttons. They were prone to failure. I have 30 & 50k mile radios, that have had failed buttons. I believe the 85 FSM have pictures of correct AM/FM and AM/FM/cassette faces. Here is partial pic of 86 AM/FM radio on my old 16K mile GLHT.
Todd
I have an 87 am/fm cassette out of a daytona. It's not the ultimate sound, but the more basic cassette unit, same as what was in my moms 87 glhs. I think it works but am not sure. Could test it. I swapped a ultimate sound unit into my car right after getting it.
Thanks guys. Todd, I couldn't really remember what the original stereo looked like. I'll have to get my FSMs out....which reminds me I really need to pick up some '86 MY books.
Here is the factory (not original) radio I have in the GLH Turbo now. It 'works' but doesn't output sound. It's probably something simple, but I really want to just keep this car bone stock for nostalgia sake. I think I'll be happy enough just listening to stereo FM.
Yes, I will pull it out and snap some pics. Test it on the weekend.
tried your email, didn't like it and bounced.
I am selling this one for $10. PM me if interested. Thanks!
