Would it be possible to use resistors to eliminate solenoids if i'm not using them? I know you can do it with the solenoids in an srt-4, just wondering if possible with our solenoids?

I know Gary Donovan did it on his Reliant.....
Anybody have a problem with that? lol
The computer won't know if it is a solenoid or a resistor as long as you get the resistance close to what the solenoid runs. Match that and it should be fine.
So, if you ohm out the solinoid you would want a resistor with the same resistence. Is that correct ?
Yes. You want it to be as close as possible.
I did this with my CSX and no problems. Just ohm it out and head to radio shack
my solenoids on my cars are ~30 ohms.

Ahhh PERFECT! I had to leave all that crap plugged in after my rebuild...and it looks like crap just hanging there..i should of thought of that! Thanks!
what solenoids are we talkin' here? EVAP ones?
I am thinking the wastegate one...and the evap one..
Just turn it off in the cal, ;)
It turns out that you don't have to use a resistor that is close to the load of a solenoid. It can be significantly higher resistance, which means you don't have to buy a large power resistor. A 470-ohm 1/2W will work fine. I've used as high as 1k, which can be as small as 1/4W.
The way the ECU checks for shorts and open circuits is that it only checks to see that the circuit goes low when it drives it low and that it goes high when it is not driven.
With the solenoids unplugged does it throw a CEL? Im pretty sure I had my boost solenoids unplugged and got no CEL but the bara solenoids unplugged did throw a cel.
Yes, there are fault codes for each of the solenoids.
The thing is that if you use a smaller ohm resistor that you need to use the correct wattage(as clase as you can get) to what the solenoid would use otherwise you stand a chance of burning out the resistor. If you use a higher ohm resistor the wattage becomes less of an issue simply because of the way the computer checks the circuit and the fact that it is a low voltage/amperage circuit anyway.
i've been searching with no luck, what about CODE 41, alternator field error, can we disable this too? how!!!??? thank you!
i am interested since i have an external voltage regulator. and it would be great to really use the KR CEL mod.
