Re: Pat's GRM Rampage Project - $2014
Been thrashing like crazy to get this thing "done" enough to take to SDAC for some testing. Cobbled together a downpipe, ran a shorty exhaust with a muffler to pass SCCA tech, built a battery tray, did more wiring, built a hood vent that my son helped weld up, braced the hood, built intercooler piping, repurposed an old airbox as a crank case breather, mocked what may become the front air dam, quickly slammed vacuum system in, braced the fender/quarter flares, threw seats in it and tagged/insured it. Drove it around a bit only to find it's pissing oil from the top end somewhere. I have my fingers crossed it's coming from the exhaust cam seal...we'll find out this weekend. It also has a fuel delivery problem of some sort. If I can get it to stop leaking oil, I'll go after that next.
It's looking very cobbled together, but I don't care at this point. If I can get it all to work, it's going to SDAC.

Already called the garage, they are standing by for VIN check at noon.
How convenient I had to come in to work at 4AM for a fire drill so I can leave early. Perhaps the stars are getting in alignment.
Re: Pat's GRM Rampage Project - $2014
Are you running the wiring for the lights across the front end? I like seeing that entire passenger side harness gone. On my P body I ran it through the front end, on my AA body I just trimmed out most of the wires.

That's what I am doing on my project. The remaining body wiring to the passenger side will be run along the rad support.

I ran it across the front of the block, under the intake with the alt harness.
I want to clean it up further and get rid of the wastegate and purge solenoids and run resisters to avoid a CEL. They're currently mounted on the firewall next to the MAP/Baro due to time constraints.
Re: Pat's GRM Rampage Project - $2014
Great work Pat. That thing looks awesome.

Re: Pat's GRM Rampage Project - $2014
Checked a ton of the list this weekend, including the exhaust cam seal. Unfortunately, it's still leaking.
I may clean Shadow and just bring that to SDAC. The likelihood of the Rampage being ready at this point with my work and family schedule this week is getting close to zero.

Was really looking forward to seeing the rampage project. But no matter which car, it will be good to see you again Pat.
Re: Pat's GRM Rampage Project - $2014
The oil cooler on the passenger side engine bay, you have an electric fan underneath or will it use some sort of passive cooling via the hood, maybe? Looks great and gives me ideas for mounting one when I get to that point.
