Is the label special???? If it rips you can just print off another label. Personally I write on the label with a pen.

See picture in post #13 of this thread.
Ok, I got it peeled off, chip is an ST M87C257 and with that plugged in, I was able to read it and save the BIN from it. Now, I have eliminated one variable and am back to the "why won't the SBEC work?". If I plug in a TBI SBEC the system will trigger from any of my Distributor Reference HEPs, TBI or Turbo, but the turbo SBEC will not.
Ok, update, rgl10 burned me a test chip, he took a 2.5L cal and dialed in the changes for the 2.2L with it installed the SBEC behaves as it should as far as I can test it right now. Spin a spare turbo distributor and ASD closes and coil will fire as it is supposed to. Now, when we have some more decent weather, I can reconnect the fuel lines to the injectors and see what I have. If I have 4 good injectors from my two sets I can see if it lives again.
Ok, I reassembled the electronics, put about 3 gals of ethanol free premium in the tank. I ran a jumper from the bulkhead connector to the left side harness for the fuel pump. First try, as soon as the fuel pump built up pressure, the O-ring on the FPR leaked like a sieve. Second try, all 4 injectors leaked at the end cap to body joint. Pulled my spare set of injectors and installed them, no leaks, and when triggered with my spare turbo distributor sprayed nice cone shaped patterns. Now I need to figure out why they seem to be firing as a group rather than in sequence 1,3,4,2.
Waiting on an SBEC, but in the mean time I did some digging on setting up a flashable SBEC and found Rob Lloyd's projects on oshpark when I ordered the circuit boards. The information on building them is in a format I can not get to open, I even searched for a program to open them. The description files are ones with a .ger file type, and there is one with a .xln file. The .ger I found a program that is supposed to be able to open them, no luck, the .xln, the program that is supposed to open it is not compatible with windows 10. If anyone has the information on building these (parts list and assembly instructions) in a format that can be opened I would love to be able to get at least one built. The other item I found was called an SBEC adapter 3, which I am thinking might be the latch board, so I ordered those boards also (minimum order is 3). That is another one with the same file extensions so unable to be opened right now. If someone has those instructions in a usable form I would like to get them also.
Thanks for any help on this deep mystery.
I use Kicad and it has an excellent gerber viewer
Open source so the price is right!!!

Ok, slowly downloading.

Ok, got it downloaded and installed. It opens the Gerber files, but not the .xln file.
Currently having interesting Windows issues. When I try to rename the file, the .xln doesn't show. I am going to try it a different way, use one of my MacBooks on the file and resave it.
Got it! I did both of them, the Flash module and the SBEC adapter while I was at it. Now I can also play with the Digital Dash parts as I ordered 10 little switches from DigiKey to replace the bad ones.
This is also why I have two MacBook Pros, one is a dual boot so I can run Windows as my Ford EFI tuning software only runs in Windows. Most stuff normally I do on my desktop. When we travel I usually carry the new Mac as it is quite slim and lightweight. I did get it converted and saved back to my server in addition to the big PC.
