No worries Simon. I know all about getting too busy with other things.
The spark plug wires on the Masi 16v I put in my SL ended up being an easy fix. I would like to buy two new sets of them eventually though. I bought Aurora wires for my TIIIs from you before and they are very nice.
feelin' like trying something new?
I have run in the past, on my turbo converted turismo , TI log with d/c m/p LM and 314 cam,
MOROSO BLUE MAX SPIRAL CORE plug wires .. with no interference issues EVER...
used an accel super stack coil , same resistance as o-e and for giggles an accel cap & rotor on an 85 distributor and RN9YC plugs
I reused a set of factory terminals for the distributor ends
and yeah I even had a super long coil wire from the inner fender to the distributor just like stock
nothing makes a connection like real metal....
I did hack up a brand new set of hemi wires to do it and they DID have the plastic ends that fit down into the plug holes in the hemi valve cover.. but I cut half the plastic off to make them shorter
I doubt the plastic at the plug end was the reason for the lack of interference though it is in addition to the plug boot on the end of the wire
The Masi 16v wires are kind of "super special" and it doesn't seem like I could make them myself. The distributor ends are the same, but the spark plug end/boot seems very unique...
Plus, I want to eliminate the super long coil wire going to the stock oil filled coil in the passenger side fender. I plan to modify a '90+ e-coil (thermostat mount) and use that instead so I can cut 3+ feet out of the coil wire and not worry about the belts hitting it.
I bought 2 sets for 3.0. Got custom coil wires which was the best part.
