2001 2.4 motor with 2.5 rods and pistons.
I've read in a few places that 2.5l pistons and t2 rods will work in a 2.4.
I've got a set of shotpeened rods and forged wisco pistons out of my old turbo 2.5 16v (head off a DOHC neon) hybrid motor. Roughly What would the compression ratio be with them? Pisons were from FWDP.
Would be nice and save a ton of money to be able to reuse them insted of buying new pistons.
Thanks.

Roughly 7.0-7.2:1. Pretty low.

That could be brought a point by shaving ~1mm off the block, I believe it was?

I guess, but if you ever wanted to upgrade to better off-the-shelf pistons and rods, which is one of the benefits of the more popular 2.4 platform, then you'd have to go and find another block.

seems dumb to me , machining the block when you could more easily do the head
then you still have a usable shortblock ..and a "race head"

Even more logical would be to use the correct rods and pistons. One and done.

I also thought that people were having issues getting the harder performance bearings for the older rods. I know you can get them for a 2.4.

if you know where to get the harder 2.2 rod bearings I'll take a couple of sets each std -10 and -20
