Autocross Omni GLH or Charger GLH
What's the better platform for mostly stock autocross? Looking for something for my 18 yr old son to have fun with in the novice group. Got my wife involved in Track Night in America with her Miata, and now I'm looking to pick up a car for my son to use as the Atlanta SCCA runs a monthly event 19 miles from home--- If I can ever sell my darn boat!---
Lets hear what you have to say

literaly same chassis. I would go omni just because you MAY find one in the JY to get parts from.. you will never see a charer in the yards again.
or as you know. grab a miata!@! I loved mine.
Re: Autoocross Omni GLH or Charger GLH
Well the 4 door car has a slightly longer wheelbase than the SC and is lighter by 100 lbs. or so, so I know which one I would use if I had a choice. Really, just find something that isn't rusty. Both cars enjoyed great success in their day. They are basically the same platform. The floors in all L-bodies can rust BADLY due to sealant dry rotting & shrinking, and door gaskets letting water in. Once water gets under the carpet there is no way for it to get out, so even sun belt cars can have very rotted floors.

Class wise, an NA GLH looks pretty good on paper to me.

Re: Autoocross Omni GLH or Charger GLH
to answer the question , either , the first , best one you can find
you want a solid car so looking for "one" would be useless if a good "other" was at hand
seat tracks in the omni are higher than the charger so that may affect the feel of the car more than most little differences
granted the omni is about 100#'s lighter
greatest fail in the charger body is the heavy rear window .. but it has 2 less door frames , inner and outer
charger also has heavy front body parts compared to the omni
