I built it, using 2x3 rectangular steel tubing.

This thing is going to be insane, regardless of how fast it is. I approve! :thumb:
Fun project! Keep dem pictures coming!
I needed a clean method of holding 1/8" Lexan plastic to the rear doors in place of the window glass. What I came up with is cutting off some sheetmetal from an old Chevy truck fender and welding in full-circumference tabs on the inside edge of the rear door post. The Lexan will mount flush with the outer sheetmetal with countersunk screws. I apologize for the low quality pics. My garage lighting took a dump on me :(

I gotta watch this project unfold! Excellent work thus far man. :thumb:
I'm IN! subscribed. :)
Nice, I am looking forward to see more progress!
I was finally able to get a bit more done to the car, due to warmer weather in my neck of the woods. I have a tendency to hibernate during the winter lol! I finally finished the full-circumference tabs on the passenger side of the rear door. I still need to clean up a couple of welds, but it doesn't look too bad with it covered in primer. Was gonna work on the drivers side rear door, but I ran out of MIG wire. I'll get another spool tomorrow.

After some trimming, I was able to fit a set of 235/75/15 tires on the car. The car sure looks different with bigger wheels and tires on it.

I cut out the fuel filler door and I'll be welding in a patch in place. I've gotta get some smaller diameter MIG wire before I can weld it in.

What is the outside to outside spacing on the rear frame? Also, what are you going to be doing to keep the axle centered?
I've got more 2x3 steel tubing coming on Monday night. In the meantime, I'm gonna make preps on the car over the weekend to get it to fit properly. A bunch of near-future progress hinges on the frame rail installation.
I decided to cut the floor out of the car. It will make mounting the framerails a bunch easier.

I ended up boxing in the inner rocker panels to add strength to the body, and give me a stronger mounting point for the rear dropped crossmember and body mounts.
