I want a world beater Spirit R/T
Almost swore off the Spirit R/T for a Hemi Charger. But the Spirit went back to number one on the build list. I want 500 HP and I want to blow away BMWs and Benzs on the top end. I have a set of 4 bolt main caps being built at Pro Gram, and I need a ported head. Let the games begin!!!

A good, sorted TIII should do it with the proper mods where it counts. I'm not even sure you would necessarily need a gang busters cylinder head.

I will probably wind up aiming high and shooting low. I'm only planning on being the financer and supervisor on this project so there will probably be a name like Slowe or Jackson attached to it. Lol And super nice guy Adam Lengel doesn't seem to mind when I call him for advice.
Re: I want a world beater Spirit R/T
You gotta pump those numbers up if you wanna be a world beater these days. 5.0 turdstains and 392 scat packs are running low 12's straight from the showroom.

I don't consider the cars you posted to be "the enemy." Lol
I want to take out stuffed shirt Euro cars and ricer crap.
Re: I want a world beater Spirit R/T
To be fair, a 500hp Spirit would run 10s if anyone ever followed through. The number of people who have claimed a high power output on a TIII is small, but it's still infinitely more than the number of people who then followed that up with a representative 1/4 mile pass, which as far as i know is 0. I don't think the TIIIs that have seen the 10s so far were even making 500hp to do it because they were lighter.
Re: I want a world beater Spirit R/T
The turbo I6 BMW's are pretty fkn quick these days, had a couple mildly tuned ones come through the shop for maintenance and minor repairs, and they boogey.
Having said, Steve Calder's TIII powered CSX made 440whp on 15 psi with a stock head, with cams, custom intake and turbo header, big turbo, big injectors, etc etc.

Isn't Pat's Shadow T3 powered? I believe he ran 10's during Drag Week...
Re: I want a world beater Spirit R/T
I'll recommend a 2.4 swap. 500whp is relatively easy with off-the-shelf parts.

Yeah, and he's not the only one to run a TIII something-or-other into the 10s, but if you look at their weights it didn't take 500hp to do it unless you're assuming a pretty high drivetrain loss. A full weight + 10-sec legal Spirit might need that, though.
Re: I want a world beater Spirit R/T
I think it would be so cool to pull up next to a BMW at 100+ mph, flip him the bird, and blow his --- away all the way to Stuttgart or wherever the hell they are built.

A bunch are actually built right here in SC lol. They are as common as Hondas and Chevrolets around here.

Yep, still a lot of SRT-4 go-fast parts available. The junkyards are still chock full of 2.4's too, at least they are in my area.
Wastelands, if you want to talk 2.4's see if you can get in touch with a guy on here "SpeedEuphoria". He 2.4 swapped his Spirit way back when I did mine.
Re: I want a world beater Spirit R/T
I have Ed Papp building me a killer 568, and I wish 5 Digits would reappear to answer my question about buying a cylinder head from him...
Re: I want a world beater Spirit R/T
The 2.4L swap would open a huge can of worms versus using a TIII in a car that it came in (Spirit R/T). Like was said before, you just gotta follow through.
Brent @ PFI once drove my 2.5L/NPR intercooled Omni GLH on his dyno when they were in Ft Collins. I remember he laughed his --- off when the car bucked and it hit full boost and 270 ft/lbs. Makes me want to go back down with my Shelby Lancer. It would make a neat/oddball video for their YouTube channel at least. They have posted several Neon SRT-4 videos.
But yes, it is insane what BoostedBoiz are doing with Hondas. Factory cars are much faster and more powerful than ever, especially compared to the 90s or early '00s. The game has changed a lot.
