Looking for a good T-M mechanic in Western Pa.
I’m wondering if anyone knows of a good TM mechanic in the western-Pennsylvania area (around Pittsburgh). I plan to do and have done some basic maintenance on my ’89 LeBaron GTC convertible Turbo II with 5-speed, but I would like to find a good mechanic in this area that understands these cars, knows what needs to be done (and doesn't) and can get the most out of them. I would like to keep my car for the long-haul, so everything doesn’t need to be done right away. I just want to make sure I know a mechanic is targeting the right things to make it run as it should, considering it’s a 30-year-old car. Any help would be much appreciated.

Would you be inclined to do any of it yourself? I have how to videos for a ton of stuff, and have been known to take requests. Belts and hoses and fluids are probably top priority and easy to do.

Drive a little to New Philadelphia, OH

Hey Cordes! How-to videos could be good. I'm definitely planning to do some stuff, but I am not much of a mechanic. For instance, I'm thinking it may need some motor mounts, which I don't intend to tackle. I have no idea when/if the timing belt has been done, and other things go with that. Just don't know what should be tackled and what can wait. How are the wheels coming? If there are any updates, feel free to e-mail. Thanks!

Isn't Brian Slowe up in that area?

Thanks Rob. From what I can tell, Brian's number is in the Philly area, which is about six hours from Pittsburgh. The other suggestion of ohiorob would be much closer. Anyone else?

You might try getting in touch with some of the Steel City chapter members. They could probably guide you to TM knowledged mechanics in the area.

I'll check, but I'm pretty sure I tried that already with no response. Thanks!

How is the group represented on Facebook? What is the name of the group? Thanks Brummy!
Re: Looking for a good T-M mechanic in Western Pa.
Im not sure if there is a facebook group, havent been in the area the past 8 years. Look up Heath Farquhar, Chris Ellis, or Craig Martinelli Jr. They are active in the various TM/SDAC facebook groups.

Thanks. I have dealt with Chris Ellis trying to buy a strut-tower brace from him, which he couldn't find. I could start there, but he is more than an hour away from me. That's not too different than ohiorob.

Well folks, time to see if anyone has any new thoughts. I found a guy who helped me out last year, but due to personal, family reasons, he will not be available this year. Can anyone recommend someone in the Pittsburgh area who does expert Turbo Mopar repairs? Thanks!
