requesting accurate information on operation of "proportioning valve"
I was attempting to bleed the brakes of the CSX and the right rear would not bleed due to a blockage. A few moments of troubleshooting and voila the proportioning valve was blocked.
Let's clean it up...but first lets figure out how it work and google was very little help and any references were of little help. After disassembly and cleaning the valve, I am confident it will be fine going forward.
Any one have a good reference for how these work??

Do you mean the outlet was actually blocked??
There is considerable pressure to block.
Not criticizing at all, only curious.
They give little trouble.

was the safety slider thing blocking half of the system?
or the output of one of the rear proportioning valve thingys?

also, collapsed brake hoses are a real thing for these cars. ive had a few on my reliant. that can goof up your bleeding too.

Right, collapsed hoses are an issue and often result in a dragging brake.
Works like a check valve so that keeps pressure on a caliper.

I did have a gunked up valve at the "springy thing" LOL
The safety sliding piston is straight forward but the rear section does not work as described in http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/kn...-Valve-Options
I took four units apart 2 Tan, 1 Yellow and 1 White. Tan 1987,white 1988, tan 1991 and yellow 1992
All 4 brass bodies had the same size passages. the only difference I see is 1)spring length and/or 1mm spacers, 2 )diameter of rod of plunger seal 3)size and height of ridges on the exterior sealing surface of the seal itself. There are raised dots on the interior of the seal which I believe is there to allow flow to go by.
While is assembly is simple/inexpensive, I am sure it was a significant effort to design/test. The size of the dots, the height and width of the exterior seal ridges and the shore rating of the polymer
I will add pictures a bit later.
It appears longer springs are used for lower crack pressure and the size of the exterior ridges of the seal control the slope.
