Re: TIII lifter alternatives
FWD was supposed to be working on a new run of lifters. The thread in their section just kinda died out even though there was interest...
Re: TIII lifter alternatives
Here's what I got from the other site, pretty sure lengel is who is running these.

Re: TIII lifter alternatives
That's pretty cool. Hopefully Lengels will drop in with some wisdom.
Re: TIII lifter alternatives
I've been running them for years. They work.
I'd get the Mercedes disks also instead of modifying the lifter the way I did.
Re: TIII lifter alternatives
This is great. I got these lifters maybe 3-4 years ago....meant to post about them but never followed thru. My friend works at MB parts so got a good discount!
Re: TIII lifter alternatives
Anyone have a part number or Benz application for the lifters and caps?
Re: TIII lifter alternatives
washers #113-055-00-76
lifter #113-050-03-80 (intake), 113-050-00-80 (exhaust)
order 16 intakes, the exhaust have a restrictor inside.

Cool! Thanks
Re: TIII lifter alternatives
So we don't want the restrictor? Was kinda unclear about that on the other site. Wonder why the exhaust has a restrictor and the intake doesn't?

upon looking up those part numbers i'm finding that the 03-80's are exhaust and the 00-80 are intake?
Re: TIII lifter alternatives
I'm using BGA hl6312 lifters from rock auto. They're a drop in direct replacement, exactly like the original.

Interesting! 11mm Fiat Panda lifter. $8.95 a pop. Gonna order 1 a compare.
EDIT: These look to be the exact same as stock, including the little black plastic caps and sealing ring. I like the build of the mercedes lifter better but these can use stock lifter disc. Also, they ship from UK so its like 25$
Re: TIII lifter alternatives
Very interested in how this plays out...

The BGA HL6312 type, (actual genuine Fiat ones are installed in my R/T) are perfect. I tested the BGA's and they're working great as well.
I do have to disclaimer that they were hard to get. The test batch had a mix of the Mercedes lifters and Fiat lifters. The Fiats are 100% percent identical. And the only difference in the BGA's is the look of the machining. Overall I'd say there is no difference, but figured the Fiats were a touch nicer, but its probably just me being picky.
Re: TIII lifter alternatives
How can I order these from Rock Auto? I would need an application to look it up.
After buying at least 5 sets of these from FWDP I kinda wonder. I've shared hard to find part numbers before (like cheap Cometic gaskets for the Masi 16v). Jeez.

DO a part number search on RockAuto. They came right up but are showing $9.57 for me and only 7 remaining.

Re: TIII lifter alternatives
Awesome information to have! Thanks for sharing. I'll be putting a fresh set in my TIII that has had them replaced fairly recently yet they're noisy again.
