Yeah, you move the pumping efficiency around with cam timing.

300hp *might* be able to be made out of a stock turbo, but how far off the efficiency map are you? How hard are you having to try and spin that poor thing? I think honestly the physical limits of the turbo will step in and prevent you from making that power...not just at all, but back to back much less over a long length of time.
I don't think you can, its only slightly larger than a TII compressor wise and with the extra flow of the TIII head and being a 2.5, it will be out of breath. 300 WHP, no way, 300 crank, maybe.
Got most of the work done to pull the 8v out, just axles and 2 mounts left. Hoping to get it pulled and the TIII dropped in today
Agreed. I've read that some guys have had TIIIs that flow well enough for the boost to fall off at higher RPM because the turbo can't keep up. With a 2.5 and custom anything I think the stock turbo will be spinning itself into the grave in short order.
That said, I'm really excited to see this car moving into a new phase of its life. I remember working on it a bit at SDAC when there was an electrical problem which turned out to be the alternator IIRC? This is such a rare car I'm glad to see someone in the community continue to love it the way it deserves. Thanks for keeping the torch moving forward Rob.
Yeah it was alternator issue, Tony Queen (Bozo) owned it then.
I really do enjoy this car, 2-dr J-coupes were always my favorite body style. It garnered a lot of respect on the street from non-tm people in its previous form (before everything became fast lol), hopefully this new iteration will continue that trend. The fact that it's such a rare combination of options gives bonus points too :D

Almost forgot to mention, I did get the drivetrain swapped out last weekend. I'll post pics when I can. Gotta get the new Eibachs installed on the kyb excel-g struts so I can get it back on the ground.
Wow, that's some darn good progress. It won't take too much to make the TIII run in it either so that's a bonus.
Picture time!
Also put these together yesterday for it, Excel-G struts and a new set of Eibachs with a coil cut off. Hopefully they will work better than the Sensatracs did (which are pretty shot, granted they've been in there for 4 years or so).

Put the axles, struts and motor mounts in today, and put the wheels back on for now so I could drop it off the stands and see what it looked like on the cut Eibachs. I think it's gonna sit nice once it settles and is at full weight again :)

Also pulled the underhood harness out so I can start working on building the swap harness.

Looks good right ther, i think. And nice big shop! I wish i had a place like that to work.
It's my parents/brother's place actually, mine is much smaller/shabbier/cluttered lol.
Another Phantom RT is taking shape:eyebrows:!
Yeap  I really want to find one of the Phantom rear lip spoilers for it. Like this:

Did some research on the RT vs GTC harness last night, there's very few wires that actually tie into the main harness from the ECU. I think it should be a fairly simple, if time consuming, job to make a nice, clean swap harness out of the two. And clean up the fusible links/fused wires also. May even go as far as installing a PDC, although I'm not sure yet.
Very cool, glad your getting things done. :amen:
Made some progress with the wiring harness. Still looks like a plate of spaghetti flung around the engine bay lol, but half-way done.

A+ for ambition!
Looked at it...closed hood again...lol
Need to get some other projects finished up and out of my home garage so I can bring this one back home from my parts and finish the wiring.
Starting to get motivated to get this finished up. Sort of debating whether to move the ecu location or not. Since i have to rewire for the TIII anyway, be a good time. Plus it might help make room in that corner for the awic or something...
Got it home and in the shop so I can start working on the wiring in the evenings.
