Will a SRT4 aftermarket shifter work on a 2003 PT GT cruizer 5 speed?
One of the first things I want to do to my newly acquired, bone stock PT GT turbo is a short throw shifter. I know that the NVT came on the SRT4 and the Getrag is on the PT Cruizer, which I feel shifts a TON better....just dont like the length of the throw. Will the SRT4 version fit the PT?

No. They have a different shift pattern. Hurst used to make one for the GT. Not sure if they still do.

Thanks. I just got of the phone with them and the said shifter is no longer around.

The non-turbo Hurst short throw for the PT will work. The only difference is the shift pattern. The whole cradle assembly is the same, turbo vs. non turbo. I believe even the rod itself is the same, stock for stock. You'll be on your own finding (or making) a knob for it.
The Hurst SRT-4 shifter will fit in there no problem, but it will be very short, height-wise. By the time you swap out a longer stalk, you're essentially back to the same geometry as what you already have in there.
Chuck (Maddog) is a great point of reference for this kind of stuff.

Thanks.....but now I need to replace the clutch pack. Everything was fine when the dealership had regular gas in it, but the first time I put it to the wood with premium it slipped really badly and will not be driven again until replaced, slips so bad that when I use the cruise control to pick up a couple of mph it slips immediately. I want to make sure I can get it to Chris Kriegs house a few miles away without leaving me stranded.
