here's a couple more links:
http://3.0spirit.tripod.com/5speed.html
http://harvii.tripod.com/trans/transmissionswap.html
Bah, I wish you did the 5 speed install before me Jory so I could have used your page as a reference :P (looks very helpful)
Thanks Ondonti. I updated it again to include more in-depth wiring instructions.
All of Rob's links are dead, wish I'd saved the info, :(

wayback machine FTW.
im sorry if i didnt see it in those website links, but what would i have to do to to do the swap on my 92 daytona with the underhood harness having the trans computer for the a604. is the trans computer and harness mostly an add on to the engine and chassis harness? ive been shopping around and i think i may be wasting my time rebuilding my 604, in fact it may be cheaper to do the swap to the 5speed, the gf wants an auto but its my car anyway.
Computer is an add on per say so you don't need to rewire anything, just change a few pins so it will start. It might put the CEL light on but it will still function-to avoid that, just find a 5 spd computer. I am assuming you have a V6?
yup, the 3.0l im not sure i want to sink money into the motor and make it a good n/a motor and have to worry about it eating the trans if i feel like using (read:abusing) it. so i guess i will need to find a donor car or locate the remnants of one in a junkyard.
what 5 speeds are compatible? Just the A543, or are there other ones that will bolt up? Any RWD other than the Kia Sorento?
As far as we know, just the A543.
any 6gxx motor's tranny should bolt on.. but sometimes there is complications with sensors (i think 2000+ 6g72 had a sensor in the bellhousing so the a543 dosnt fit on without modification.
There are other transmissions that will bolt to the 6g engine series but only one of them is a 5spd drop-in on these FWD dodges, and that's the a-543.
