    Hi Jerry,
    I am trying to figure out a timing problem and thought I would ask you.
    I think the cam timing is retarded. The crank is at TDC 0 degrees and the cam gear appears
    to be counter clockwise from straight up at the head.
    The hole is supposed to be straight up or 90 degrees in relation to the head angle.
    The adjustable cam = 0 degrees.
    If I adjust the cam sprocket to get a perfect 90degrees from the head angle
    would that be perfect timing? The tooth its on is retarded and the next tooth would be advanced.
    Therefore the degrees on the cam aren't really accurate depending on what tooth you are on. . .right?

    So I am just going to use the cam adjustability to get a straight up cam gear hole in relation to the head- whether its advanced or retarded is only a function of what tooth its on-- in order to have the timing dead on. . .Is my thinking right or is there something I am missing?

Hi! Jerry here. I work a lot. I have been working on cars in general for a really long time. I find it a really addicting challenge to do what "can't be done" on anything I work on. I seem to get the weirdest problems on just about any car / truck, etc. I get stuff that everybody else gives up on. I have 11 vehicles. 6 of them are TM's. Too many vehicles for one person!!!!
