Todd’s suggestion - cut your 2.25” downpipe a couple inches below the swingvalve and weld onto it your new 2.5” downpipe is the simplest way to go

Didn't they start putting it under the hood in '87?

If your LM has a little black plastic cover on it, you'll either have two wires coming
