There were 3 different starters available for the 2.2/2.5 family - 2 different Bosch direct drive starters, and a Denso gear reduction starter.
The 'large' Bosch starter was used on ?? cars. It weighs in at 12.0lb.
The small Bosch starter was used on the turbo cars and came with a fiberglass heat sheild clipped to the starter. It weighs in at 8.5lb. It's also a gear reduction starter.
The Denso starter was used on the later (~92+) 2.2/2.5 and is a high torq, gear reduction, mini starter. It weighs in at 9.5lb, but has an integrated heat shield. It's also significantly smaller than either Bosch starter.
