| Hard to believe, but I've owned this car for over 10 years now. I bought it through a classified ad on the old "Shelbyville" that was one of the first enthusiasts sites on the web. I went all the way to State College, PA on a greyhound bus with my brother to get it. On the way home, it threw a rod through the block about 100 miles from home, so modifications began shortly thereafter. Most of the last 10 years this car has been my primary pizza delivery vehicle. A couple years ago I got a better job so I don't drive it as much anymore, although the car is slowly getting put back together and getting a little nicer everyday despite the high miles. It currently has a 2.2L Turbo II motor from another Shelby Lancer with only a few mods; 3" exhaust, K&N intake, Shelgame cal, SBEC electronics. Most of the mods are in the chassis/suspension/brakes and like my Omni, most of it has been treated with POR-15. I'm building this car to last another 300k miles. I'm also working on converting the car to 2.5L Turbo III. |
