| The car was originally my grandfather's. When he died, my uncle got it and drove it until the thermostat went up, it broke a piston, and threw a rocker arm. My cousin fixed everything but the piston and the car was given to me since i just got my license. I drove the car for 8 months before I changed the broken piston. On another occasion, the engine developed a slight rod knock. I drove where I was going(20 miles). I put in new rod bearing and sanded the crank with 800 grit sand paper. I also removed the balance shafts and modded the oil pick up. The car still started right up and ran fine til the day it died. The final thing that managed to kill the car, I hit some ice and rolled it over. it landed on its wheels still running....nothing can kill this car. I turned it into a convertible and did some burnouts with it before selling it to a scrapper for $100. |
