Turbo Mopar's Car of the Month - April 2009
    Justin's (Turbo84Voyager) 1984 Plymouth Voyager Turbo conversion!

Chrysler didn't offer a turbo minivan when they introduced them in late 1983 but they should have! If they did, they might have looked like this prime example! If they don't make it, build it yourself!

The van started life as a 2.2 carb 5-spd van. I converted it to a 2.5 turbo and made many modifications to the van over the years. The van has been in the family since it was new and it's 25th birthday was the other day (Built 1/28/84)! I did all of the work including the electrical and harness on the van except for the machine work and applying the paint ( I wasn't painting at the time ) I did do the color sanding and buffing. The van has vinyl buckets and is the LE model. Most LE models came with Woody sides and very few had 5-spd's. I have entered the van in several car shows and did part of the 2006 Power Tour in it. It is a blast to drive. With the 2.2 I used to turn the A/C off to get power climbing hills, now it will light the tires up with the A/C on.
