View Full Version : Now selling Aurora spark plug wires.

I decided to start selling these as I feel these are the best wires on the market today. I have been using these wires on my customer vehicles for 6 years and of course, my own cars and trucks. There a true 8.5mm spiro core, will not cause radio or computer interference, have enough resistance to let all the energy thru but also to let the coil do its job. The ends are air crimped and come with a lifetime warranty excluding abuse, fire etc.

Here are some links-good read on the benefits and construction of the wires.

http://www.auroraelectronics.com/Spark%20plug%20wire%20construction.pdf

The manufacterer is 30 mins from me so I can get them fairly fast. They can be custom made so longer, shorter, different ends, Hybrid wires etc, you get the idea. Choices are red and for $5 more, black.

Prices are $55 for 8V and TIII-You can have TIII's with straight or 45 deg plug boots-if you run the valley cover, run the 45 deg boots, 3.0L's are $65. If you need any other model, PM me for prices. Shipping extra.

OK, 2.0L and 2.4L wires now available. Prices are $80 for the set and let me know what length plug boots and what coil wire angles you want-straight or 90 deg.

I can do custom sets for SRT 4's, $80

Hybrid sets, $80 for red, $85 for black. PM with length and ends needed. :D

I can als supply TIII with a distributor wires. I came up with my own lengths but if you want something different, let me know. Its a regular wire with a 90 deg boot at the dist end and a 45 deg or straight boot at the plug. Engine not included, lol! ;) Price is $60.

Not sure how well known they are outside of BC, but I thought I'd point out to everyone on here that almost every BC TM person I know is using a set of these.

I'm also running Aurura wires on my Rampage, and they are awesome! I can't count how many times i unplugged the wires for checking my spark plugs, and they still snap back on the plug tight unlike most aftermarket wires like bosch that come apart after a few times..

I will be getting a set of wires off of you sometime in the next month or two for my Shadow.

Just wondering why the 2.0/2.4's are so much more expensive? I'd like to try a set out, but for almost $90 they better be gold plated.

The cost of those long boots, thats the money on those bad boys, :( Thats why the regular wires are so cheap, no special boots.

Jason, thats why I am selling them, to get there name out there and make some spare cash to finance the van, bike and my baby boy,

Also, like I said, there the best wire out there so why not, the rest of the world might as well enjoy them. I am sure the 2 winners will have alot to say about them.

What makes these the best?

turbovanmanČ
12-15-2006, 01:30 PM
What makes these the best?

The core is a true 8.5mm spiro core, not lied about like other sets, like Taylor's 10.5mm set thats got a 6mm core. There tough, use stainless fittings that are air crimped and the boots are molded to the wires so they don't pull off. I have only lost a couple ends to being too aggressive. Try that with Taylor, Neihoff etc and everytime you change the plugs, the terminal stays with it. If you happen to do that, send me the wire and I'll send you a new one or get it fixed. I can also do custom so if you need longer, shorter, different ends, thats easily doable.

I also love these wires. I've been running them for several years now and can tell you when I had a break-up under boost with Taylor wires, I swapped on the Aurora's and the problem went away. Same problem with another car running Accel wires, Aurora swap cured it again. Can't beat them, especially for the money.
Only problem I've seen with them is an occasional terminal pull-off, but with the lifetime warranty there is NO problem getting a replacement.

I couldn't be happier with them :thumb:

Yes, if the wire fails or you pull the terminal off, I will send you a new one but if you've burnt it, torn it etc, your on your own.

Customs wont' bother you and yes, black is $5 more.

Just in case, I'm using a Crane Hi-6 with their LX92 coil.

I just picked up a set for my neighbors turbo grand prix. They look great. We have his engine and trans out right now but it should be heading back in this weekend. I told Simon I definatly wanted them and send me a paypal address and he sent me the paypal address and the fedex tracking number at the same time. He shipped them before payment was sent. What a deal. I didn't see a flag on the wire but it does say Canada on them.

Any testing on these to compare resistance etc from them to Magnacore, accell etc?

turbovanmanČ
02-10-2007, 03:48 PM
Any testing on these to compare resistance etc from them to Magnacore, accell etc?

Yes, there lower on some brands and about the same on others. Magnacore, Accel, Taylor and some MSD are higher, some the same. They built these so they still have some resistance so the coils still work properly. You can see the specs of Aurora in the links or I can measure one when I get to work. Thats not the only benefit, I can have them made to any length you want and still retain the nice crimping. Some DIY kits still are something to be desired. For example, with Kevin's help, were fixing the SRT wires so there stronger and work better.
Dyno testing, won't happen but I seem to remember an Honda wire test a few years ago and Magnacore didn't do too well, ;)

Hey simon is that $45 shipped? Or how much for shipping to the US? Is there different options for coil wire lengths?

Shipping is extra, need your zip to figure it out but its usually around $10.

Tell me what you need for coil lengh, options and I can get it done.

Simon, Are these wires better than the Magnacore wires? I thinking about what kind to get. And will they run with the MSD coil?

I feel there better. Lower resistance, air crimped fittings blah blah blah. Plus if you need something changed, I can do it whereas Magnacore's, you can't. So if the MSD coil has a male terminal, I can have a wire made to fit that, etc.

if these provide a much more aggressive spark, what is the likelihood of shorter plug electrode life?

should i be moving away from my rn9yc's?

They might shorten plug life a c-hair, but not enough to worry about. Now if you run their coils, then yeah, copper plugs don't last, :o

Wires are $67 shipped for red, $72 for black and come with a coil wire, but if you need one moddified ie length, coil etc, let me know and I'll have it redone.

Coils are aprox $400, but you dont' need to buy a coil and module, its all one unit.

Plugs, with the Aurora coil, I prefer the iridiums as they last alot longer, the coil literally eats regular plugs for breakfast, lunch and dinner, aprox 5000 km life span.

I must say this has to be one of the best sets of wires I've ever messed with. I did some trading with Simon and put these on my Dad's Shelby Z. Very good build quality, VERY nice positive snap on the plugs. A+

IF I had to complain about anything, it would be that the coil wire is a tad too long....but it's really no big deal.

No worries Simon. I know all about getting too busy with other things.

feelin' like trying something new?

I have run in the past, on my turbo converted turismo , TI log with d/c m/p LM and 314 cam,

MOROSO BLUE MAX SPIRAL CORE plug wires .. with no interference issues EVER...

used an accel super stack coil , same resistance as o-e and for giggles an accel cap & rotor on an 85 distributor and RN9YC plugs

I reused a set of factory terminals for the distributor ends

and yeah I even had a super long coil wire from the inner fender to the distributor just like stock

nothing makes a connection like real metal....

I did hack up a brand new set of hemi wires to do it and they DID have the plastic ends that fit down into the plug holes in the hemi valve cover.. but I cut half the plastic off to make them shorter
I doubt the plastic at the plug end was the reason for the lack of interference though it is in addition to the plug boot on the end of the wire

iTurbo
03-12-2019, 04:21 PM
The Masi 16v wires are kind of "super special" and it doesn't seem like I could make them myself. The distributor ends are the same, but the spark plug end/boot seems very unique...

Plus, I want to eliminate the super long coil wire going to the stock oil filled coil in the passenger side fender. I plan to modify a '90+ e-coil (thermostat mount) and use that instead so I can cut 3+ feet out of the coil wire and not worry about the belts hitting it.
