Hey guys,

I decided to trash my project car and move all my goodies to my 86 GTS. Just want to get a TD on the road before it snows, and I think that one has a much better chance.

Anyway, I recently redid the entire front suspension on my 600. New ball joints, tie rod ends, bushings, etc. Everything except the struts.

Now, when ordering the struts, most companies mention a difference between 85 and 86 struts, and they have a different part number.

Today, I ordered new struts for the 86, and I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into the possible differences in suspension.

I guess I'll find out when I drop both K frames, but wanted to ask anyway, since someone might know something I don't.

Thanks! :)

That's what I thought, and I plan to find out when both loaded k frames are sitting on the floor in my garage...

But why the pn# difference between those 2 years in struts?

Well, KYB does it, Monroe does it, Gabriel does it, and autozone and advance autoparts part finders do it.

They are the same size. A note about the mounting bolts so I would look around that area.

Actually my curiousity is for the road race setup on a shadow. I need 1.75-2" lowered. Well a 1st gen neon coil over setup with stock ride height would be perfect! Combine that with 1" taller ball joints!!! WOOT!
