Hey all! As part of my graduation gift from college, we are moving the date up to early spring in regards to repainting my Daytona :D :thumb: :eyebrows:

Now, since we are redoing it and I'll be removing the fenders, hood, taillights, windows, etc. I am debating about swapping out the '87 - '91 style tail lights and housing to install the '92-'93 style rounded Iroc taillights and housing. What is your input on this? I did a search for the thread that used to be here but could not find it. Regardless, I would pay about $50 for the parts to swap and they are in really nice condition. Please let me know your input with the poll!

Right now, I'm leaning towards swapping them since I will also be installing '92 Iroc R/T Ninja Rims on the car once it is repainted, which I think will give it a very unique appearance to go along with rear louvers and side louvers. So, convine me otherwise or back me up!

Don't bother. Those tails are too rounded for the square style of an 90 Shelby, and besides it has been done before, there was a guy from ontario that did it to his 87 T-top car that was converted to an 89 shelby body kit... I will try and dig up the pictures of it...

I am inbetween. I do love the looks of my 89 Daytona. But I can also see the look you are going for.

I say, if you think you are going to like it. Go for it :)

its your car, do what you want. it wont be cheap getting a complete set of lights + mounting bezels, probably not worth it.

We already found them and can get everything for roughly $40 :thumb:

Id say go for it, the later tail lights are a lot nicer!

I like the later taillights too. The 1992-1993 Daytonas looked awesome from the rear. Too bad they had those funky headlights. I always thought they should have kept the pop up headlight 1989-1991 nose on the later cars.

i think i paid over $50 just for a left rear tail assembly for my 93 back in 2000. if you got everything for $40, i'd seriously be tempted to part it out and make some fast cash...... like 6 times what you paid for it......

i hope you cuddled with the guy after the anal pillaging you gave him.:D
