Steering rack questions?

I have a known good (rebuilt, non-leaking) power rack out of an '86 Laser XT. Would there be any difference in this rack and the original out of my CSXT? Hoping I can use the known good rack.

Anything I should do before putting it in? I know I want to replace the outer tie rod ends. What about the inner?

All car racks except L bodies will interchange but earlier models had smaller mouting bolt holes so if you use a new model, I think around 88 but for sure 89 used the larger bolts, its going to move around. You can use an earlier model on a newer one by drilling out the bolt holes.

You can get a reman rack with new inner tie rod ends for around $125. Its going to cost you $50 or more for inner tie rods and you still have a used rack. Not worth the effort.
