Kool. That's way past 42 for me. I'll have to come check it out, though.

Thanks for the link, Greg.

You can pretty much bet I'll be there every weekend. It's 15 minutes from my house. Finally a nice track like norwalk without the crowding and drive.

I'm just wondering if they will run a full weekly program, being that they will have the circle track too. I haven't read anything about the planned daily operations of the track yet.

Sounds like a good place to meet and get a few tnt in, if they do.

I've heard 5 nights a week. They're fighting with locals and such about noise/pollution right now. From what I hear they already have all of the paperwork done, it's just some people trying to screw it up. There's a pretty strong following against it, websites and such. I guess we have to wait til spring and see if it actually gets built or not.

Norwalk Raceway will be renamed- Summit Motorsport Raceway, or something like that.
Basically Summit Racing gave them money to put their name on it.

I don't understand the "noise issue", they have the circle track with two craftsman truck events, and it is next to an airport:confused: .

That will take awhile to get used to calling it Summit instead of Norwalk.

I just posted in another thread, but this is dragstrip is dead, and the circle track is closing.

I wonder what's going to happen with the IHRA event? Back to Norwalk? They moved the night under fire to that weekend.

I don't think it can go back to Norwalk since they are now NHRA.

No tracks are sanctioned by both? Guess I never paid attention to which tracks are NHRA or IHRA. I know thy have the NHRA event now so that may have been the motivation behind the deal for Norwalk. Also looked at the IHRA site and it looks like they have been running the World Finals in Rockingham atleast the last couple years. I am pretty sure Rockingham has had an event for awhile now but I don't know if that came from the Nationals in Norwalk?
