View Full Version : Used 2.2L Wiseco's and Coated T2 rods...

.020 Wiseco's from my motor, as well as T2 rods that have been peened and sized for the .927 pins that these pistons use, and coated by Dart Engines with an oil-shedding coating. ARP rod bolts as well. These pistons and rods have been in my motor for about 8000 miles.

They are match weighted and already assembled... straight out of my motor that made 407 WHP on 93 octane.

A new set of rings will be needed (obviously).

There is some light detonation damage on the crowns of the pistons. There are also some light lines, not really scuffs, on the skirts. This piston/rod combo will be 100% perfectly fine in your motor if you're not pushing the limits of detonation on whatever type of fuel you use.

In the most non-degrading way possible, probably 95% of cars here could use them with no issues, I just wanted a new set for insurance since I'm trying to make another big jump in power this year.

Pictures are available to serious inquiries only. If you're nervous about the detonation marks then maybe these aren't for you. I for one wouldn't worry about them whatsoever if I didn't try to push so hard on pump gas.

$450 USD. You get everything listed above for the price of a new set of forged pistons... except you're also getting the .927 machining done, assembly, balancing, coating of the rods, and ARP rod bolts.

I'm not very negotiable on this. If you're serious this is a good deal for someone who's building a bad-boy motor.

407 whp? Damn... I missed that post. Last I knew... it was around 370whp on pump gas.

You better break the 500whp mark. I told someone over at TD that an 8v 2.2could do it and not on alcohol and/or nitrous.

BTW...didn't you post video a year ago of you racing on the street a Cobra I think in which you lost over and over? People on another forum were ragging on you...maybe it's time to settle this at 407?

I don't think it'll happen on pump 93 without some sort of injection. But who knows, I'm building a new header for it that should help tremendously, and try a couple of other things. I'm toying with the race car/daily driver line a bit much past that, but we'll see. I'm skeptical at the moment, and the 30R will run out of oomph at about 32 psi.

Yes, 407 WHP and 395 WTQ, and the peak is at 6000 rpms, so take that naysayers. That was even our FIRST pull, with no tuning. 24 psi max boost, and over 350 WHP/TQ from 4000 rpms to 7100 rpms. :D

I'll probably give in and use a meth system this season, and shoot for the 500 mark. Another interesting tidbit for those that are knwledgabel in differing dyno numbers this particular Dynojet 248C is only 11 WHP off of a Mustand dynanometer, tested back to back. A far cry for the normal 20% difference of most DJ's to MD dynos.

I'm done bragging. Find someone to buy this stuff so I can finish some of the things I need to do!!! I don't think people realize that I'm a 20 year old college student who doesn't have an endless budget!

Sorry, forgot to mention. That car was pretty strong, but mine was in the dumps for that race. I had problems (excuses) up the wazoo and was making a whopping 280 whp then. I broke my shifter cables twice that night, and the car was in limp mode.

Funny thing is that the video of me pulling away from him with said problems when we did a 3rd gear roll weren't included! Oh well.

It was a DSS 306 w/ AFR heads on a D1SC blower... it made 456 whp before his belt slipped on teh dyno. It was on a multi ribbed belt when he ran me and making more like 500 whp. Decent car, he's now on a single 76MM turbo looking for the 700 club- a bit out of my leauge for now!

Back to selling stuff!

Okay, I guess I'll give in and say $425... so not only do you get forged pistons but you get coated T2 rods, ARP bolts, .927 pins... and everything is already machined and balanced... I can't really see going any lower than this guys- someone out there has to be building a shortblock!

Heck- buy this and sell whatever rods you were going to use and save yourself money!!

free bump for a nice setup......have seen them in person, small pitting at the worst, still a very stout setup and the oil shedding is sweet!

Maybe post pics of the pistons and rods will get you more replies and more interest. When people say "minimal damage" that will be a big red flag for most as they are thinking the damage part. Post pics so they can see that all it is is probably a bit of pitting.

Yes Simon, they are for a 2.2- sorry for not indicating that.

I'll get some pictures later this evening possibly. Yes, some pitting along the crowns is all that really is visible.

Just wanted the public to know, I wasn't 100% that you had a 2.2L, :thumb:

I fixed the title for you.

Pretty sure the pot is as sweet as it's going to get. If you can find a better deal for ALL of this stuff then go for it. If not it's sitting right next to me.

Here are the pictures for those that are worried... some may be kicking themselves now. I haven't even cleaned them, this is how they came out of my engine! How's that for taking care of things!

I guess, but it will end up costing you more than if you would've just bought my assembled set... rather than buying my roomates pistons and my rods... ? If you want to buy them throw me an offer I guess, but chances are I'll probably hold out until someone buys the set.

The wiseco pistons need to have the rings from Wiseco. They are "different from Stock. Check with Chris Wright at turbo's unleashed. He should be able to get you some.

About Total Seal. I just talked with the machine shop that has done all of LRE's work. He said they only use total seal for alcohol engines.

LRE has a set of 2.2 +.010 Venolias WITH Total seal rings if someone is running that setup. About 150 more than TU is charging for Wiseco, but that is because of the ring price. These are NOS from his stock.

I wish I was LRE's neighbor too.

I used Total Seal, they suck big time-see this thread. For an N/A engine, I wouldn't hesitate to use them, turbo, forget it.
