I am wanting to install a second muffler in the GLH to quite the exhaust down. The cat is at the factory location now, any reason why I can't move it up right after the downpipe?

I dont see why not... my cat is right on the downpipe before the 45* bend and it's stock.

you can but you want that stuff as far away from the turbo as you can get it. I assume you're running a side exit setup and need to move the cat for room? If not mount the muffler in the stock location and keep the cat as far back as you can get it.

But as long as you're running a cat, you obviously need to pass emisions testing. The further upstream the cat is, to more efficient it is at doing its job. AND the more space you have downstream for your choice of muffler /resonators.

You can move it as close as you can. Most OE systems now mount the cat damn near at the manifold exit.

Excellent.

Have 2 mufflers in the GLH now, it sure sounds different.
