Well thank you very much Kevin for putting those up.

I'm putting a patent on the "Aaron Miller Front Bumper" design :)

That's a Precision 750 'cooler jammed in there... from a distance it almost just looks like the silver skunk stripe is continuous! ;)

Aaron, I have been waiting to see pics of your ride in full size from since you were last over at my place with your brother and gave me the camera phone teaser. That is too sweet.

Thanks Cordes- you really don't get the full effect from it until it's in any of your mirrors... it's fairly dominating. What can I say, my brother and I both run the hacked front bumpers... we're not trying to hide anything! :o

so what's the specs on the engine/trany?
Short Block-

89+ Mexican CB motor, 2.2
TU 4340 H beam rods
Wiseco .040 slugs
Dart coated pistons skirts, tops, rods, and crank

Top Half-

Bryan LaForest "Bully Performance" G head (212 in cfm, 159 ex)
44MM intake, can't remember exhaust valve
Taft S3 cam
Lonewolf large plenum intake on top of a ported two piece lower (lower is heat coated and insides coated for smoothness)
58MM TB
3" IC pipes
Precision 750 intercooler
Aeromotive AFPR
-6AN fuel lines from firewall forward
72 lb/hr injectors
TU cal
S60 harness
TU Header (heat coated and wrapped)
TiAL 38MM external wastegate w/ it's own dedicated 2" downpipe
3" downpipe with V band connection
Garrett GT3076R (exhaust housing highly ported and heat coated)
4" intake

Transmission-

568/523 hyrbid built by Cliff R
Booger bushings
SRT4 Hurst shifter
stock diff and axles :(

Others-
15" Rota Slipstreams w/ 225/50/15 BFG Drag Radials up front, 205/50/15 Falken Ziex's out back
6 point full halo roll cage
5 point harness' for driver and passenger
Custom Radiator that fits under the stock radiator support so it's hidden

There might be some other stuff, but I didn't feel like taking a long time here.

In the end it comes up with 407 WHP and 395 FT/LB on pump 93 with NO injection devices, at only 24 psi. This was also our first "guess at it" baseline pull. The next two were disastorous leading to a hugely blown headgasket, and me finally realizing that the old shortblock needed some re-freshing... hence the new rods and pistons.

I'm currently working on a race oriented header that should see tremendous gains on the car, and it will be available to public after reliability testing is done. Keep your eyes peeled in two months or so for that. I'm trying to take the definition of a streetable 8V car to a whole new level.

And yes, this is a DAILY DRIVER for 3/4 seasons of the year, including tri[s to and from school in Ohio, and road trips all over. I usualyl rack about 12K miles a year on it in just 6 months or so. :eyebrows: Gotta enjoy it!

Thanks for the compliments guys!

fantastic layout of hardware, very impressive, looks like your car is set to be among the best of the best.

any ET's to date?

Keep up the good work!

Yup, 13.41 @ 114 on a 50 trim and a junkyard motor... est. 280 or so WHP.

13.39 @ 110 on an old Jyard motor and an S60 setup.

No numbers ever since the car really started to take shape. What's amazing is that they used to make that power at 20 psi on both the S60 and the 50 trim... but now only 4 more pounds of boost and a WHOLE lot more power. Yahoo for efficiency!

Garry, I'm so glad you found this. For those that don't know, Garry is one of the guys that first got me hooked on these cars, and for that I am very grateful. They have been a wonderful platform to work with and dovelope new theories and techniques that I have applied to countless cars of different makes and models. Thanks for giving a young kid a chance. Wait till I turn 21 next year, then we'll see what I'm capable of!!!! ;)

Andreas, as far as painting the IC goes... I've thought about it but pretty much decided not to. It's way too much fun scaring people with it to go and hide it now. :)

Always glad to help out a fellow Mopar guy! I also like the fact that your pushing the 8v to the hardest you can. As you stated, always remember its about efficiency!

Now if I get one of these again - I'll need help! LMAO - i've forgotten alot of this stuff. Been out of it for too long. :D

Aaron, when are you ever going to get that car to the track?

8valves
11-12-2006, 10:22 PM
As soon as it's back together and re-tuned for the changes... I'll make an attempt at 11's @ 135+ mph on BFG DR's. After that maybe I'll see about some slicks to get my 10 second run that I've wanted for a long time.

NICE CAR, and good luck on the runs! I plan on being in the 11's on pure streets hopefully by next year. Or at least run quick enough in the 1/8th to be there if I don't make it to a 1/4 mile track. It's gonna take alot of power to run 135+ on DR's! That would be well over 100mph in the 1/8th, or if not with a KILLER top end charge!

Wow is the first thing I said when I saw that. That intercooler is huge! What' it measure??

That's a very serious setup. It would be nice to have a real header that's affordable.

I must say those are impressive power numbers, but where's the good 'ol TM torque?

Beautiful car, beautiful parts, beautiful numbers. Good job!

It's amazing what happens when you treat a td 8-valve like any other high performance engine and stop pretending its immune to things like ridiculously small plenum volumes or ugly airpaths. There's much work left to be done on this design and you are one of the ones who is moving the ball forward!

Please keep us updated on the car, its one of only a few on this forum i always look for news on.

Still there, artfuly moved into a flatter curve for more high rpm hp.

Perfectly worded sir!

You're right, I don't make 6000 ft/lb of torque at 3000 rpms... and 250 peak HP.

I offset some torque to pick up RPMs and top end HP. If you took one ride in the car you'd swear it's a 16V car.

Just wait till spring, it'll shake things up again all over.

Wait, are you the guy that had the video of racing a red RX7 a while ago?

Yeah, that's my buddy Ryan's car. There have actually been two videos up of me against him... once w/ me on an S60 setup, and the other on a 50 trim setup.

He's now on a big single and can't quite keep up with me anymore :thumb:

If you search Shelby Charger on streetfire there is me against my buddy Paul's Laser, that runs 11.9 @ 114. It's when my shift cable is all junked up and it wouldn't allow any quick shifts, but it gets the point across. The car was untuned then and at an estimated 125 mph trap speed = 370 or so whp.

Edit: here ya go... http://videos.streetfire.net/search/shelby+charger/0/bb448038-08ec-4b10-bee5-980a001d9022.htm

What lift are your flow numbers at? Those are quite impressive.

8valves
12-06-2006, 05:38 PM
Mario- .500"... too bad the current cam only goes .476" It flows even more at .550

I don't have any pctures of the engine completed in the bay I don't think. There was a few floating around on the box plenum intake thread I think. They were when everything was still fairly messy and mocked up.

I'll get some when it's installed in the NEW car now... hehe. I picked up an 87 SC that is super nice and is getting all of my current go fast goodies plus some more. The '86 (the one in the pics) will be sold w/ a stock SC drivetrain, suspension, and wheels. It has some rust starting and this other car was too good of a deal to pass up.

It's possible that the car could end up with a Lotus head on it within next season... so if someone really wants a bad 8V top end keep saving your pennies as mine might show up as soon as it busts the 500 whp barrier. And no, it's not going to be dirt cheap :)
