Checking slicks for wear....

I have a set of MH slicks. There is about 1/4" until the wear holes are gone. Are they getting close? how much do they start out at?

They only start out at about 1/4", maybe a hair more. The wear marks go all the way through the outer compound. So, the tires should be good until the wear marks are gone. Unless they're really old, then the rubber might go bad before they wear out. I'm running the same pair of M&H's that I originally bought 4 years ago. I still get the same 60' times on them. They've got probably 30 passes on them now, and only about halfway worn through.

Well they are about .2 of an inch or just a hair under. Not a lot of smokey burns tho. Thanks for the info
