Very cool. I'll be interested to see how it does. Why the same side IC?

convenience.... the same side intercooler makes it easier. that said, ive see honda guys make big power lately on same side intercoolers that are similar to that.

is it going to provide max power/efficiency? no.... but neither is a .48ar back housing on a GT35R

it's not just a same side i/c it's a dual pass i/c. So twice the flow loss.

it’s a eBay Tial knock off 44mm.

I’m not expecting anything crazy with the van. It should spool fairly quick with the exhaust design being a 4-2-1 as it will help scavenge. There is definitely going to be back pressure with the small .48AR hot side But hopefully not to much because it’s about the same size as a factory hot side. If it creates to much of an issue I will put my other GT3582 I have on it that has a .82AR hot side.

i mainly built the van for looks with the turbo in the grille and being able to mess around with PPL.

it’s definitely cobbled together but I don’t have much in it and I’m letting my 7 year old son help weld everything up.

There’s multiple 450+ hp 4cyl cars out there using this exact intercooler. I’d be happy with 200-220 whp. It’s definitely not ideal but it’s what I had from another project I had. The intercooler I would use if I was buying a new one would be a same side vertical flow like the one from FWDP.

That's great. keep us updated on what you're doing. I think that HP goal will be easy to exceed. If you think there is too much back pressure, you can port most exhaust housings quite a bit.
