With the quarantine almost over I figure I'd take advantage of the time left and swap heads. Is there a tips thread for swapping an 8V head? Which head bolts/studs need sealant, copper spray, etc?

I'm not sure that there is. These days I would go with head studs based off the cost of MP bolts last I checked. I've been using copper spray for the gasket, and anaerobic sealer for the cam seals. Other than that, it's pretty straight forward. I think Russ might have something on minimopar?

Red threadlock for all exhaust studs.
3 1/2 to 4 turn of white teflon tape on all intake bolts.
Any new/used head bolt that can do 90lb ft is fine. (http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=45022&d=1368228372) Studs 90 lb ft.

Install head gasket dry.
Measure the deck and cylinder head with a straight edge and make sure they are within specs.

Agreed, good advice!!

I torque in 10 ft-lb steps, 35-45 etc but leave the 4 corner bolts 5 ft-lbs less.

Re torquing after a few heat cycles is very important as well.

Same pattern starting at 75 ft-lbs and working up to 90-95.

I run a large bastard file diagonally across the block.

High or low spots will be instantly obvious.

Thanks
Randy
